This Episode owed a lot to Asimov's "The Mule" in Foundation and Empire. The emperor=Magnifico. Clara is Bayta Darrell.

To me, Ansible would be a reference to the Enderverse.

I wouldn't call the Atilla a good album, but it is entertaining, certainly more entertaining than anything Billy Joel has done in the last 25 years. It's kind of like Deep Purple with no guitar or bass, and some really silly lyrics.

I gotta say I really don't like Dawn. She's not a bully, but she's the next worse thing…she's the little weasel that keeps throwing other kids under the bus to stay in the bully's favor. She's just a little obnoxiously self-righteous when she rats out other people. If she came back for a third time, she would be the

I thought from the beginning Brenda would win this challenge. It favors people with narrower faces who can jam them further through the grate. Once I saw how comfortable she was, it was obvious to me that the game was already over.

Is anyone else amused by the cop partner on a conspiracy show being named Art Bell?

The word "shite" as used in america, has been solely used by douchebag hipster anglophiles. It's actually one of the strongest tell-tales of douchebag hipsterdom.

Jim Beaver spoke the greatest sentence in TV history:
“I may have fucked my life up flatter than hammered shit, but I stand
here before you today beholden to no human cocksucker, and workin’ a
paying fucking gold claim.”

This was one of the funnest episodes they ever did. A+ just for Alicia's summation.

If Carpenter doesn't get nominated for this, she never will.

Yeah, I liked the fact that they remembered that the characters were at high altitude and in thin air in the last part of the the show, and had all the actors breathing heavily to reflect that. A lot of shows would not have bothered unless it figured directly in the plot.

Career trajectories:
P2 will have a mildly successful debut album, and then will disappear, never to be seen again just like all the other WGWG.

No, It was J. Lo who didn't know The Letter. Given Tyler's demographic, I wouldn't be surprised if he's performed The Letter in his younger years. Tyler does actually seem to have a reasonably broad knowledge base.

*****Phillip's been kind of a one-note at times, but the Dave Matthew's
comparison is also pretty weak and superficial. He doesn't actually
sound very much like DM side by side. I'm not sure how that Phillip
cliche got started. He moves around like DM? Sort of?*****
