“I would say Snyder understood the aesthetic of Watchmen, but he had no clue about the characters or story.”
“I would say Snyder understood the aesthetic of Watchmen, but he had no clue about the characters or story.”
LOL this is pretty much it. He is like a wife taking our their frustrations on the mistress because they don’t want to deal with a divorce. Snyder’s problem is with WB but WB won’t let him make his version of the movie if he airs them out.
He hasn’t even seen Whedon’s movie but is violently opposed to it. That seems like kind of an asshole move. Whedon was literally just doing what the studio paid him to do. The difference is that Snyder can’t blame the studio (since he still wants the studio to find his movie) but he can pick on Whedon as much as he…
Fisher is all over the place. He proclaims he can’t say more because of some imaginary NDA, then he openly goaded Whedon to sue him during a justice con panel and then he claims he said everything that had to be said and then claims there's even more and yada yada yada.
His fans are exactly like that episode of community where the Dean becomes a deranged director and Annie violently commits herself to him because in her words "Everything the Dean does is genius because if he isn't a genius than I have devoted myself to an idiot and I will not accept that!"
I know, right? It’s not like it’s his pièce de résistance like Citizen Kane or something. It’s a studio-ordered and studio-controlled (oh, sure, he fought them, but, honestly, if they’re letting this exist, it doesn’t bother them that much) superhero circlejerk, the entire reason for which is “hey, look, all those…
Also telling people who enjoyed the movie it was actually shitty.
The entire project has an air of spite around it’s existence that makes it an absolute slog to read about and makes me completely disinterested in watching it.
Justice League sucked, and clumsily attempting to graft Whedon’s sensibilities onto Snyder’s foundation probably made it suck harder, but good god is Zack Snyder hard to take. You’re an up-jumped commercial director with the critical and literary sensibilities of a 14-year-old whose single idea—excessive slo-mo to…
Have you seen Sucker Punch?
Because resources are not infinite, I'd rather they work on something that has a snowball's chance in hell of being good, and studio execs seem pretty dumb and encouraging them to continue doing dumb things discourages them from doing smart things.
It's really not.
You know what isn’t a good strategy when trying to make a shitty movie better, not actual watching the shitty movie.
Maybe
A
Remake
That’s
Awesome?
Man his fans must have Stockholm Syndrome. How does this sound like a guy who's going to make a good film? At this point I'm wagering its going to be a worse cut of an already bad film and anyone who cared wasted three years of your life.
Normal Person: My daughter had unexpectedly died and I want to thank everyone for accommodating me as best as the situation allowed in that tragic time. The finished movie is not what I would have done but it was just bad circumstances all around.
Its just a fcking superhero movie! And not even one of the popular ones! This is on par with getting the Slater cut of the 2015 Fantastic Four movie.
I just hope that the Synder Cut is as good as Batman V Superman! I mean, that’s the goal, right?
See internet idiots? This is what you get when you encourage this sort of thing.
