Awwww, Steve Rogers finally gets to have that last "dance" after all.
Awwww, Steve Rogers finally gets to have that last "dance" after all.
*shrug* to each his own ;)
Ironically enough, "SuperJesus" is the last/most recent phase of Superman's modern cycle, until the late 80s, he was simply "really powerful guy with a heart of gold". Hence, he has been more SuperMan than SuperJesus his entire run.
Superman has existed since 1939, there is no one unique superman, he's been written by many different writers and evolved/devolved over the years. LOTR on the other hand, is a short collection of books written by one author with a singular concise vision as to who his characters should be.
Oh you don't have to see it again, that would be an exercise in self-punishment. I was being snarky when I mentioned Superman Returns, I brought it up as a parallel to Man of Steel. It's everything MOS gets "wrong", SR is bright, idealistic, has fewer plotholes, supes has his red trunks on, no morally ambiguous ending…
I "recommended" Superman Returns because it is everything MOS dectractors say Superman should be and it's an utterly lifeless movie at that. I was being snarky and sarcastic ;)
I was being snarky and I assure you I absolutely agree with you ;)
You put it more eloquently than I did, most definitely agree.
From a cinematic point of view, Superman Returns is an okay movie.
Superman Returns was a modern, realistic Superman with no "insane plot holes", "ridiculous treatment of Lois", "horrible, horrible dialogue" "awful pacing or nonsensical motivations" etc. I highly recommend it, I think you might enjoy it greatly.
I have issues with Man of Steel but a great deal of complaints is simply just fanboy rage: "Superman doesn't kill" "The suit is too dark" "Superman didn't save kittens stranded in trees" "It's not my Superman" "Where are his red panties".
"Cool" prank?
Umm, okay.
Oh wow, thanks man. I'll be sure to check out Batman/Superman: Apocalypse, sounds interesting. Hahaha, Granny Goodness, now there's a fixture of the bygone era that was the wacky hilarious 60s.
I believe this Kara is definitely gonna differ from her comicbook counterpart. She isn't Superman's cousin, more like a distant ancestor. She was a member of the exploring crew that left Krypton 20,000 years before it's destruction, her ship crashed on earth and the rest is history.
Here's a link to the online comic: ht…
In the official movie tie-in/prequel comic, Kara was on the scout ship that arrived 20,000 years before the events of Man of Steel.
At the risk of sounding sacrilegious, I think WB is in a great position to tie Kara's arrival to the origins of the Amazons of Themyscira.
Hahahaha, haven't seen Kids in the Hall in years, brought back memories. Well played good sir, well played ;)
My guess on Man of Steel: Zod comes back as the eradicator 2 sequels in. Btw empty pod held Kara Zor El aka supergirl. It was covered in the prequel comics.
Looks more like Justice League 1990s. Should have gone for a minimalist look like Batman Beyond, their costumes look over accessorized and clunky. Superman looks great though.
By that logic, Avengers 2 isn't happening since New York was thoroughly ransacked. Le shrug.
