As derided as Batman forever was, Val Kilmer's Batman/Bruce Wayne is my favorite after Bale's. Glad to see he's looking much better... and slimmer too.

Ummm, before the reboot DC had a lot of quality writers on several characters (Dwayne McDuffie, Mark Waid, JM Straczynski, Scott Snyder, Geoff Johns, Morrison etc.) knocking out some real great work (well apart from Stracynski that is), while Marvel released a ton of gimmicky but straight forward crossovers…

Bravo, I wholeheartedly agree.... well apart from Stephanie Brown, I can't stand her but that's just my inner hater. I prefer Cassandra Cain. Irony is, Gail Simone's Batgirl series reads just like Stephanie Brown's.

Well they tried .... and failed but for every flashpoint and Blackest Night, there was Cry for justice, grounded, rise of arsenal, new son etc. Sometimes "better" comics just doesn't cut it, you need something new and fresh. (Even Marvel NOW!!!! has joined in and pseudo-rebooted their line)

Huh, you want the old "original" DCU back? The one in which Batman was the only selling comic, and everyone else not batman related floundered? No thank you. Swamp Thing, Animal Man, Action Comics, Wonder Woman etc. have been pretty awesome in new -52 DCU.

Exactly, that thought crossed my mind after Mackie was cast as Falcon. It's a perfect opportunity, at the very least a name drop and quick cameo. Unless Marvel is retcons that as Stark developing his wings instead, which would utterly piss me off.

Yeah, Black Panther is a core member and I say that in terms of longevity as well as popularity. In most Avenger iterations, BP is a featured member. Members like Hercules, Black Knight come and go but BP is a steady constant much like Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and Hulk.
