I own the re-released double LP of Dopesmoker. It’s good, to be sure, but I’ve always liked Om better.

Dopethrone was really the first and last doom album I ever cared about. I’ve listened to and enjoyed a lot since then, but even the following Electric Wizard albums haven’t been quite as good, though Time to Die might have come close. Om is definitely my shit too, but they don’t really scratch the same itch for me.

I don’t know if the “attempts” are necessarily genuine “shots on goal,” but world-class players like Messi and Ronaldo apparently only score on free kicks 6.5% and 8% of the time respectively. Many more shots miss or are blocked than go in. So I think the current configuration is fine.
