I’m trying to say that the US couldn’t stage an invasion from Afghanistan, Iraq, or Syria...those are all active warzones still.

I mean Russia wouldn’t want to get involved in that mess officially, but the Iranian military is nothing to scoff at, Iran could run a hell of an insurgency, and Iran has the ability to mobilize Shi’a groups internationally.

Yeah well 3/5 of those countries are currently engaged in wars where one side is very hostile to US troops, one is tiny, and Israel...is 3 countries over from Iran.

Yes, Obama’s presidency was marked by immense racial animus against him, and he was forced to be the best when every other president was permitted to be less than that. And racial resentment against the first black president is a large part of why we are where we stand today.

Obama’s plan with Garland was specifically that he was such a “moderate” judge that McConnell could be shamed for blocking his nomination. This operated on the theory that there was a contingent in the GOP that would turn against McConnell (the classic “good Republican” idea).
