The 304 was the little brother to the 360, not the Chrysler 360, the AMC 360. There was no 318 in the AMC engine range, that was Chrysler.

So... just so we’re clear. The AMC 360 was NOT the same as the Chrysler 360.

There were the short-deck engines: 290/343/390 (‘66-’69) then a tall-deck version: 304/360/390…
