Now for the next order of discussion: How long should I let my turbocharged car idle before shutting it off?

I’ve spent wayy more money than I should’ve to keep my first car alive. Had the engine replaced (which I could write a book on), updated and refreshed the entire cooling system, replaced much of the driveline, a few suspension components, corner headlights, rear hatch lift supports.

Sad I didn’t make the list, I guess drifting grandma’s Buick up and down a rural gravel road isn’t abuse :\

You don’t happen to own a SAAB do you; my car also smells like crayons/

Last year, I took my grandmother’s ‘98 Buick Regal LS out to the Altamont Pass Wind Farm, near Livermore, CA with a buddy of mine. Not sure how we got in, but I learned how to do the tactical driving move of my people known as the Scandinavian Flick.

The RKIIs are also quite wonderful

Only grade 8? You’d think on a heavy duty, highly critical part they’d be grade 10..

How about an alarm clock?

The suspension could benefit from a slightly stiffer anti-roll bar to be considered sporty, in my opinion. The transmission does the job just fine.

I’d love to know if they plan on making the steering and braking a bit less numb. The car itself is great other than the driving experience and rear head room.

What would happen to a Koenigsegg if it hit a Jackrabbit at 285mph?

This is how it looked then, and roughly how it looks now! A lot of car for $500, but also a lot of work. Might get it repainted in its current color Imola Red.

I found it abandoned in a Raley’s parking lot in the East SF Bay. It needed a another head gasket, but with the engine having over 220k on it I decided to have that replaced. Everything except the heated seats work, and the hazard button, which was pushed through the dash. Since then I’ve replaced the CV axle

Not entirely sure, but I hope the boost hoses blow first

There are like 4 9-5s where I am, but none are wagons. I’ve seen quite a few not too far from me in Marin county!

3rd gear pulls in this catch many by surprise, it is never enough though and I’m hoping to add about 50 more ponies in the spring!

They’re worth saving! This car is an absolute dream on a back-road and one hell of a road tripper. This one has a set of Bilstein B6 or B8 coil-overs and it’s definitely an upgrade to make!

The 9-2X Aero is about a second quicker to sixty, but this particular year 9-5 Aero is catching up to it at the 1/4 mile

Really diverse taste in cars, but I quite like it
