Right. You can learn/appreciate/empathize from the screen even if it’s not to the same degree as seeing something in person.

Very much like how you might get hungry after seeing something yummy in a cooking show, but probably not to the same extent as how hungry you would be in a restaurant, seeing/smelling that same

Assuming of course that photos and the real thing in person, are in fact the same experience.

Because the Eiffel is not negatively affected by being kept stationary.

Your argument about travel, while valid in a vacuum, is not germane to the zoos discussion, which is about the morality of keeping wild creatures in dangerous and/or unhealthy conditions.

No one cares about the animals on TV.

It looks like the “12 characters to choose from” are really meant to be two separate “games.” The Lannister/Stark/Tyrell characters are meant to go with the King’s Landing side of the board, and the other six are meant to go with the Mereen side. So that’s why Grey Worm/Hizdahr/Messandei/Daario are all on-board.

Hey, good for you and all for climbing the mountain, but your incredibly limited use of the word “professional” makes you sound like a real dick. A professional is someone who receives money for performing services related to specific skills they’ve acquired.

Get outside during the day? Professional jobs tend to frown on recess.

Thanks for the Ring Theory link. I’d read some of this but not all. Truly fascinating.

In the midst of all the (deserved) spite and scorn, I’ve noticed something magical, the rarest of unicorns:

A Gawker comments thread where everyone agrees.

This. Stoppage time is weird. I mean, I understand the principle, but when the clock hits 90:00 and you’re not sure if you have two minutes left or five minutes left, that’s weird.

And not everyone is fixated on the price tag

Venmo is a relatively popular app that allows you to directly transfer money from your checking/savings account to a friend’s.

It’s simple and frequently useful. For instance, last week I was out with a friend, dinner ended up being $20 each, but neither of us had cash on us, only cards. Rather than make the waitress

Thanks dad.

definitely a solid reason to avoid an artist’s entire body of work
