The stupidest thing is at least for people who work on a computer that can be done anywhere is that there is absolutely no effing reason for people to be present at their workplace as many hours as they are. I don’t know what your husband does but I bet there’s no reason for him to be in the office most of the time.

This. I’m all for men having these priorities and for men wanting work/life balance. But let’s also acknowledge two things:

I can’t walk halfway down the block without running into 3 guys who will complain to no end about their alimony or child support bills, but they can’t see past their noses to realize that if we had child care, if women didn’t make 70 cents on the dollar, if the entire structure of society didn’t minimize women’s

Yep. I live in California, in a supposedly very liberal and ‘enlightened’ area, and it’s still bad. California has additional parental leave rights in addition to the federal 12 weeks job protection (12 weeks of paid leave in CA!). My husband works in the tech industry. When our first was born my husband attempted to

Uncertainty is a survival skill.

I am trying not to be super salty about this because any improvement would be good but for fuck’s sake. It is REALLY HARD for me to be rooting for better paternity policies for men (especially in other countries) when the maternity policies here in the US are still a goddamn crapshoot. I know it’s not the point of the

So now that shitty parental leave policies are affecting men (because more men have realized they want to be more involved as parents) does this mean we’ll finally get some improvement in paid parental leave? I guess it wasn’t important when women were asking for it. Sigh.

I feel bad for the Dad but... my need to leave at 5pm to get home and feed my under 1 child is questioned, and counts against me at my job.

It’s like society wants you to have children and then it punishes you for having children and at the same time hates you if you don’t want to have children.

“How dare you make me tell the truth!”

Lying... good for me but not for thee.

As for the requirement that unlicensed facilities disclose that information to clients, crisis clinics argued that such a disclosure is an excessive burden.

Almost every shitty person I’ve ever known is a self proclaimed Christian. There’s a whole lot of “do as I say not as I do”with that crowd.

Now you’re getting it.

So let me get this straight:

A big talking point amongst Islamophobic Christians is that Muslims consider it acceptable to lie to non-believers (not saying that this is true, only that a lot of non-Muslim people claim that it is). But apparently this is something that many Christians are also okay with.

Yeah if they’re saying Matt isn’t to blame for his pay being higher but it’s themselves then they should be donating the difference, not him.

Unless that apology is in the memo section of a big fat check to Claire Foy, I don’t want to hear it.
