That’s why I buy Apple—the overpriced POS hardware fails long before software obsolescence can become a problem!

Yeah, I’ve noticed that a lot of features in new cars I look at these days say they come free for a year, or for three years or whatever. In my mind, that makes those features completely worthless. I can’t count on them continuing to work for as long as I own the car, if I do want them to keep working it means I need

Companies finding new ways to exploit maximum profit from customers (to say nothing of denying potentially life-saving features if you can’t pay) has nothing to do with capitalism? Pretty sure that’s the textbook definition my dude.

Had an actual car company made EVs successful, I think EVs would be good long-term. As it sits, the company that made them successful is first a tech company and has unfortunately made the pay-as-you-go features go hand in hand with EVs.

I just wish that tech mentality wouldn’t creep into durable goods like cars. I mean what’s likely the second largest purchase you’ll ever make shouldn’t be disposable. Tech is always improving and if you want to keep the newest tech on your old device you’re going to lower its limits of performance to the point where

I think it might be getting very near time to start stringing CEOs up by their heels from lamposts. Perilously near, in fact. About as close as the distance between the nearest CEO and street light, in fact.

Affordable monthly pays to rent a car you otherwise couldn’t afford like Volvo’s subscription service which INCLUDES maintenance and insurance and pretty much everything but gas? 10/10 excellent idea.

This is yet another way for capitalists to fuck people over.

They made Tuned Iron Dukes?  If they de-tuned the one I had, it would have had negative horsepower.

True, however I would argue that a Mercedes from the 80's is also kind of a nightmare since Mercedes is always pushing the envelop in terms of electronics. They aren’t worried about long term reliability

Holy Flippity-F**K, the God Forsaken Equinox sells that many!?? I mean I see them everywhere but never imagined that number, no wonder this country is goin down the shitter. Why fellow humans, Why?

electric vehicles equal or surpass ICE vehicles in ALL factors of performance”

If by best-selling car, you’re including pickup trucks, it’ll have to be one of those. The sales gap between them and everything else is too much.

Ironically, I feel like pickup truck buyers who buy them for work will be the among the fastest group to adopt electric pickup trucks. The savings in fuel alone will probably make it worth it. Throw in a modicum of off-roading ability for those unpaved job sites and features like 240V power outlets, and you’ve created

Of course we don’t deserve a Fiat 500. One would have to be worse than Pol Pot, Idi Amin and Kim Jong-Un combined to deserve that absolute abomination.

“A good way to make yourself upset is to log on to the UK website of virtually any automaker and gawk at all of the amazing small and electric cars that are sold in Europe but aren’t sold here, for reasons.”

Keep in mind: Fiat has been at the absolute bottom of the JD Power initial quality survey - feedback from actual owners - for every year since the 500 launched in the US in 2012. The only year they noticeably improved was when they started selling the Miata as a Fiat.

Or you could use the fiat to drive under the hummer while it’s stuck in traffic!

Yeah. I think one could get a Hummer EV and drive over this thing even without raising air supension. America fuck yeah!

I’d really love to move to a factory-order system.  Have a few examples on the lot for people to test drive and for emergency purchases, but for most folks, let them pick out exactly what they want and it’ll arrive a few weeks later.
