I feel the latter issue isn’t review bombing so much as it is proper reviewing. There’s a big difference between complaining about a broken game and complaining about a game that doesn’t suit your ideological tastes.

I’m always surprised how little value companies put on customer goodwill.

I take it L.A. Noire finished you?

That would be a solid argument if Smash 4 hadn’t become a regular fixture in fighting game tournaments. At least then you can point to the schism fueling the resentment, and traditional fighting game communities hating on Smash as a whole for being “different.”

I get that. But whenever I see someone use the line “oh, you hate what we like,” it’s often a knee-jerk response, an indication that “I got nothing.” In the case of Melee, there’s been no serious effort to address to a lot of outside critiques of the community, ones that could improve its accessibility and popularity.

Yeah, it’s really great when “oh, someone hates what we like, whatever” is used to justify ignoring and dismissing any sort of outside criticism. It really goes to show the efforts of these true believers! Nothing any Melee fan says or does is wrong, for they can do no wrong!

That is at least explained by the fact it’s from the same dev (though if true is really lazy on their part).

...Anyone else feel like Kamiko is ripping off at least the aesthetics of Hyper Light Drifter?

If nothing else, this secures The Mittani’s position as the most magnificent bastard in all of online gaming. All of it.

Is this what you do, mouth breather? Ignore a basic question that doesn’t actually undermine your point (but merely nudges it in a more specific direction), pretend it’s some GG/SJW/MRA bullshit, and do everything to run away from the question? I mean, seriously. Either you’re afraid someone of calling you out, or

Except not, you self-centered prick. You still won’t say what this “industry” is. You’re just bullshitting right now because I called you out on your god-awful vagueness and virtue signaling. Stop acting like a god-damn idpol and just say what it is.

And what “industry” is this? You seem to be awfully vague there. Are you talking about “Shock YouTubers?” Or “Let’s Players?” Because there’s a big difference between the two. Though I wonder if you have the ability to discern.

What Gearfree said. This is likely a low-scale growing operation to create a “local” supply for the island, particularly the Saint John’s area. These are people that likely never touched a video game in their lives.

The problem in corporate terms is ripple effect: If a bunch of toxic users get kicked, people who are not as toxic but may support them leave because they’re policing them too much. Then their less toxic friends leave because they aren’t on anymore. This continues on until the userbase declines considerably. Blizzard

For those who will inevitably shit on the plot of “Epistle 3:” Ultimately, the plot doesn’t matter. What matters is that there is not, and there will never be, a Half-Life 2 Episode 3/Half-Life 3. Shitty plots and narratives can be fixed with the right editors and right writers (Just ask Star Trek: The Next Generation)

A snob calling me a hipster? Pot kettle motherfucking black, man. (Also, way to assume I would take vinyl versions of soundtracks that were designed to be consumed digitally because I made fun of your pretentiousness).

...it had some broken elements, the magic system being the worst offender.

Lolwut

Part of the trouble with the translation was that the story itself was incomplete (due to the game being cut drastically from the CD-ROM cancellation), so both the original writers and localization team had to make some serious leaps of logic to adjust. That’s not easily fixable, unless they fill in some of the key

But even that is a drop in the bucket compared to how much he would’ve earned had he struck a better deal.
