Garmin has had “adventurous” mode on their zumo GPSes for years. It works well outside of cities. Inside of cities, turn the damn thing off.

As for the “purity” of riding without? No such thing. Its a moving map vs. crayon on a map. The pre-planning is the same. Selection of roads and stops is the same. The route isnt

I did. It was either that or *work* at work.

Why does a door locking have to sound so similar to a horn designed for use in emergencies?

Lets see, it took Chrysler over a year to offer a replacement for a Takata Airbag, yet no way of turning it off to avoid this dangerous shrapnel issue. In fact, the way I had to fix it was to buy another car. Recommendation was to drive another car. For a year...

All vehicles are good for now...

In case you were wondering, the 2-dr Wrangler is the worst current vehicle for a cyclist. Spare tire carriers are limited by low weight limit, hitch racks block the tailgate from opening and getting them to fit in the interior leads one or both to incur scratches. Roof racks on softtops are a no go...

And for some

Name your cat one thing, call it other names 90% of the time. I shoulda just named him buddy.

And every cat i’ve lived with has come when called.

Honestly, I don’t care. If the car salesman can’t handle a question like that, he or she might want to look into a different line of work.

There are many things I would like to see changed about this industry - over-sticker pricing is another (this should be quelled by the manufacturer, as it is not, it is an endorsed

I am sick of the car buying experience. I want an “Add to Cart” function (no more than advertised price) on manufacturer websites to avoid any of the nonsense from dealers.

My last car I bought over the phone, made no compromises, ordered it and paid less than sticker. The first time I walked into the dealer was to

Cool. So its not going to be a Renegade. And its going to be manual.

I’d be satisfied with Ford not tying dates to upcoming releases. But yeah, it seems that the people excited for the Bronco expect a Jeep-killer that is lighter and cheaper - and with the JL at +$7K over the JK, they might be closer to being right.

Why the left shoe? Why not both?

I’m all for optional helpers and nannies, but I do fear that such things often get mandated and don’t need to be (traction control, or the botched and rescinded 2014 rear-view camera mandate) because of lack of ability of the mass of the driving populace.

I will never have kids. I will

Southern California is not for beer-lovers; it is a hellscape as you describe. I’ve never been to a region where I have to walk out of a bar without drinking a pint before. All IPAs? Really?

There are more to beers than IPA.

They can only be used to judge speed in pairs, you cannot determine speed with just one tube.

I know what is wrong. 6 speeds with both 6th and reverse fighting the gate spring. That’s fun.

You got talked into a garbage package when you bought your car on the lot, and it came with something you immediately didn’t recognize as a worthless POS car stereo, in-dash cluterfuck.

Shocker. My Basic RES stereo works fine. I bet no one could have predicted those troubles.

The whole car buying experience is designed to make the customer compromise. Chances are, you are paying higher than you intended on something you did not want to purchase. And in doing so, reinforcing this model.

They have a semi-functional TV over the other end of the bar now. It plays Turner Classic Movies now, no volume.

Rever doesnt even have Privacy Zones... just saying

Not a surprise. I’ve driven cars with lane-change alerts, and found them to have varying results. The 2017 Nissan Rogue, for instance, had poor response rate, and a poor location of the indicator (visible to occupants of the vehicle only). Traffic Lights with inductive loops are still being set up in this country,

I have a passport and a driver’s license. I need a replacement Social Security card or birth certificate to get the next DHS-compliant driver’s license. So in preparation, I’ve been trying. Its not an easy process. I dont have any communication with my old family, so digging up information has been hard, particularly
