I’m really sorry to have to burst your bubble on how shit works in the real world, but when you try to dismantle someone’s argument by attacking their claims, you really get nowhere.

There is/was a disagreement about who was driving. The officer did not see the driver, just the vehicle.

A record that “does nothing” is used to facilitate paperwork transfer. A report is needed for the insurance company to collect damages from the other insurance company as blame is often assigned, that is why you need to get a report to avoid paying the deductible on an accident that is not your fault.

Injury. Police won’t fill out accident reports unless there is an injury. And they will not comment on or investigate any “non-reportable” record.

As a matter of fact, a State Trooper of the fine Kommonwealth of Pennsylvania filled out a “Non-Reportable Crash Record” at the scene and had his license plate number already.

And that’s exactly the problem, people drive without consequence and then when they are angered, their first reaction is to wield their vehicle like a weapon. An act that is underpunished if any punishment is served at all.

Hey, I wouldn’t do what this driver did, but I understand why he did.

I have a license plate number of the guy that hit me. I still had to pay $500 for deductible and he didnt get cited. If I had to do it over again, I would chase him like the dog he is. License plate numbers do NOTHING if you cannot prove an issue.

100% of the people that hit me and ran got away with it.

Too few people do this. Bravo.

A) You may not have the ability to review footage quickly enough to verify you have taken appropriate footage of the license

It didnt help me recover my $500 deductable because Police didnt have substantial proof.

No, its not a rediculous statement. More than a few drivers think they can enforce laws as they see fit. Anytime I see someone splitting lanes on a motorcycle, there is a lane-pincher or a door-opener waiting to use their vehicle as a weapon. More than once I’ve been at the other end of such enocounters. There are

“Close to”

From what I’ve seen, yes. I’ve had doors opened on me, and people hit me and try to hit me when they saw something that they don’t like. Lanesplitting? Pinch the rider. Drive against red? run Rider off the road. Drive in the HOV? Throw something at the rider. Don’t turn Right on Red? Bump the tire.

It is the norm.

Chase and record is much more conclusive. And as self-enforcement is the law of the land, it seems appropriate.

Doesnt seem unnecessary to me - this driver needs to be held accountable. From what I’ve seen, if you dont personally ensure it happens, it wont.

A) You never know if you have recorded a clear shot of the license plate

While I wouldn’t do this, nor would allow anyone to do this in my vehicle, I won’t be an asshat and express my unsolicted opinion to others.

Y’all got to keep your opinions to yourselves. Yelling your opinion from another car is not appropriate.

The Street is an absolute piece of shit. You can prop the damn thing up on the muffler, no need for a sidestand. The engine cut-off is wired incorrectly (it still spins the starter, just cuts off ignition) and the locating nub breaks off of the throttle if looked at incorrectly. The seat brackets seem to pull through

I bought a 2017 knowing the 2018 would be changed. I have fears that things like power windows, power locks, psint-matched fenders, power and heated mirrors and heated seats might be mandatory, especially on the Rubicon.

My only complain is the pathetic stereo options - which were the same from my old JK, 10 years
