Until campaign finance is fixed, the bribery never ends, and nothing else is truly fixable.

Well you can thank the supreme court for deciding that a giant corporation has the rights of “free speech” of a single person.

I worked for Amazon and the anti-union stuff is real. They touted their open-door policy giving employees a direct line to raise concerns to management. Yes, they give you the freedom to go directly to management with an issue and they have the freedom to ignore the crap out of you since you have no real backing. Also

I mean the tipping point should’ve been the first news that came out, this is just diarrhea icing on the shit cake

Yeah, somewhere along the line people forgot that businesses are supposed to exist to serve and progress society and its people. People are not supposed to exist to act as cogs and fuel for the businesses.

At this point, I guess I gotta tap out from Blizz’s games. It’s really unfortunate, because I love their stuff. I shrugged off the Hong Kong protest response with “No ethical consumption etc.” and “I’m just one person, so I guess whatever.” But at this point, it’s just like. What are you doing?

Sucks, because after a

Corporations are Anti-Human. We need to be able to break up these corporations that abuse human rights and destroy the lives of their employees. We need to end legal bribery where corporations can give large payoffs to politicians. Fuck corporate America. Unionize.

I would argue that without mods, especially when it comes to multiplayer (role-play enabling especially), GTA V wouldn’t have been quite the cash cow it now most definitely is. GTA Online is a pointless grind-fest, that fails miserably should you turn off friendly-mode.

Yeah, DMCA was literally contrived to strangle creativity and fair use protections. This world is run by the very people it protects and serves, whilst being funded by the ones it doesn’t. This won’t ever change. We only have hope of subverting and undermining it. Only guerrilla tactics work on these fat cats.

Also the rumour consensus seems to be that the next GTA is going to be Vice City, so they likely want to lay the hammer on anything VC-tangential

Hell, look at GTA Online, their absolute cash cow. They make so much money off it, but the amount of bugs/glitches in that game is pretty insane.

It comes across to me like they have plans in the works to release remasters of some of their older GTA titles and these MODs would be in direct competition with that.

I feel like game companies are a great example of “you either die a hero or live to be the villain” rhetoric.

It seems a lot of them are becoming cartoonish in how aggressive they are to “protect” their properties. I’m certain it’s “capitalisms says we have to keep growing” problem, so it’s one of those things that is

This is a prime example of what’s wrong with the DMCA; companies use it as an unassailable magic bullet without any oversight with which to annihilate anything they find vexing in even the slightest.

The DMCA is too powerful and shouldn't be able to be abused like this.  We need legislation to protect creativity, especially if money isn't being made.  I know that's a wild dream when the governments serve corporate lobbyist interests though.

Remasters are on the way, or Take Two is just a jerk publisher. Both can be true.

Are they distributing materials owned by the copyright holder? Not as far as I can tell. Are they distributing materials or tools with the sole usage of bypassing established copyright protection methods? Also no.

See? Being a complete ass to your fan community is not just a Nintendo thing.

This makes me never want to bother with any GTA game again. I was already lost with the Online game. But damn, just let the modders mod. It’s not like they’re disrupting any revenue flow at all. Hell, they’re probably the only reason people are still buying the old games to begin with.

They already re-released them

So no more Custer’s Revenge?
