I enjoyed both Cars movies to date. I felt they were more entertaining than say, Inside and Out (my friend was so bored by the first 20 minutes of that film that he boycotted watching the rest; I didn't care for the remainder myself).

to be fair, the show follows the comic rather closely outside of addition of a few additional characters…so it's not entirely the showrunner's fault if the show seems boring and repetitive.
