So the takeaway here is that it is totally cool for the owners to collude with government officials behind the closed doors to screw over taxpayers ... BUT - it’s NOT cool for players to ‘collude’ in public to the detriment of no one.

All snark aside, I think there’s a real story here that’s not being addressed:

Wholeheartedly agree with this. Just make it a wide open market. If a school wants to add the cost of tuition to the offer to make it more “attractive”, then so be it. Or - if they want to charge for the athlete to attend class, then that’s fine too.
