The thing that bugs me most about it is that there are hints dropped in the show (The Offspring and The Most Toys in particular) that Data could develop real emotion on his own, simply through growing as a being. The emotion chip was a shortcut that felt unearned, and undercut a lot of the character development across

since we have a bartender and an embedded journalist, I'm going to request a Borg Expert, because I always felt like Shelby should have been brought back at some point.

"Just as it seems unlikely the new Star Trek show will have any direct tie ins to the current film series, or vice versa."

I'm the same way. I'll always watch it if I find it on TV somewhere, but I'll never tell anyone it's actually good.

Has anyone figured out why she was English when her father was most definitely not? Did her parents get divorced and her mom took her to London, or something?

Honestly I think Into Darkness would be mostly fixed with a rewrite that removes the genetic engineering entirely and casts Cumberbatch as the John Harrison pseudonym full stop. If you want to make a movie about the Dark Side Of Starfleet, go for it! DS9 did great with that, and it could be done again. But the whole

I'll bite:

At least Darth Vader redeemed himself before he died.

Ian Darke is great calling internationals, but if I ever hear him call another Premier League game it'll be too soon. Him and McManaman on the PL is basically soccer's answer to the Buck/McCarver booth.

Cool.

I honestly laughed more at that than anything else in the episode. Mostly because they were all so pleased with it.

I read that as "with the right people behind her, she's fit to rule." Those people being him, and Tyrion. I'm not sure that I agree with him, but it makes more sense that way, at least.

Then Jon Stewart kicked him in the groin.

yeah, it simultaneously reminds you how poorly they've developed his character beyond "I used to be in The Shield," and reminds you how much better The Shield was than most of what they're doing now. the comparison flatters nobody, they should have dropped it for Reigns the same time they did for Ambrose and Rollins.

on its own it would be fine, but it has the effect of reminding you of The Shield every time you see him, and it's just depressing.

I'm aware I'm years late and therefore pretty much the worst person for doing this, but the claim that "he never says they will all become Borgs" bugged me. Locutus does say "you will all become one with the Borg" and "you will be assimilated" and loads of similar stuff. The idea that the Borg are only interested in

"Ah, here it is: Little Baby Sunhats Monthly."

I think mine was Prince of Space, and it was my favorite for years as well.
