As I have gotten older, I have learned to never complain about the trials of being a man (who is also white...).

there is no one definition of 'masculinity.' but a lot of people - here, including you - think there is. that's the problem. not masculinity itself, because it means nothing. Masculinity does not mean physical power and bloodlust as much as feminine means sewing and being gentle.
I mean, on one hand I get what you are saying - women don't ever get a break. But on the other hand the author clearly states that she realizes that, which I think is the gold standard of acknowledging her (past) privilege.
And you know what? I'm a ciswoman living in Japan and I have only had two incidents in the time…
You are confusing masculinity and machismo. Only one is worth having.
Wow, it must be so hard being you. I'm so sorry. How can we be more accommodating so you don't get your little feelers hurt?
You'll notice that the dude who followed me in Atlanta started talking to me and kept talking to me after I ignored him and sped up. He showed proof, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that he was willing to defy clearly communicated boundaries. He was a threat.
they happened because you are female.
Oppression olympics, cissplaining... you're just trying to hit all the obnoxiousness marks, aren't you?
I acknowledge this, and I acknowledged it. I have never, not ever refused to acknowledge the male privilege I was granted. As I said before, privilege is privilege, even if it is unwanted, and even if it comes at the intersection of lacking a different privilege (cisgender privilege). My lack of cisgender privilege is…
I was in my car and ready to go, and I just said, "Dude, I'm a lesbian, and you are wasting your time," put the car into gear and peeled out.
I am depleted after reading that, so the thought of you living it just fills me with utter despair.
I got nothing at all to offer except a huge, loving internet hug for you Kat.
You shut your dirty whore mouth!
I don't understand it. When I allow myself to fall off the wagon (i.e. sin days purposefully built into my diet to let off steam and allow my willpower to recharge) I go the full nine.
No, that is stupid ; you go to fast food knowing what you get, it is the height of hypocrisy to load up on a Big Mac, a quarter pounder, large fries - and then get a Diet Coke, because, you know, you have to draw the line SOMEWHERE, right?
While I agree with this poster, I do have to mention that the Center for Consumer Freedom is a front organization representing the Tobacco Industry (they are against smoking bans), the Alcohol Industry (they fighting against MADD), and Restaurants (they are against raising the minimum wage and unionization for…
I say this as someone who actually likes Taco Bell, and am apparently one of a rare breed whose stomach can handle their food, but for many people the laxatives won't be necessary.
Stuff baby shrimp into his air conditioning vents. Peace out.
Yeah, this is what I don't get. If the "good" members of GG really want to talk about game journalism, why cling so desperately to the Gamergate brand? Why not abandon it and start over with a new name and try actually having an organized group that DOESN'T tolerate harassment this time?
Can you really blame people for being upset that they were painted as "horrible human beings" because they support an innocuous cause?
If you ask for a few thousand dollars to make some videos and an assortment vapid, malicious, childish idiots throw an awesome temper-tantrum leading reasonable people to denote many times as much as you asked for, chances are you aren't the one with the problem.
