Banks are in business to benefit stockholders and owners. Credit Unions exist for the mutual benefit of all of it's members. That being said, where do you think you will get better service?

I am anal about recycling. Our curbside recycles only paper, plastic and glass but on the side I recycle scrap metal, batteries, wood, computers, light bulbs, printer cartridges, paints, solvents, etc (and I compost). I would be a rare occasion if I put my trash bin to the curb more than once a month.

@Mark: Take them to a local automotive tire shop. They are made out of the same material so they should be able to accept them.

I find it odd they don't have a solution for one of the most common stains: ketchup

44 days until I take two weeks off from work to remodel my kitchen. Having formerly worked in construction and done several kitchen remodels, I'm feeling pretty secure and confident in my preparations but any tips or advice from Lifehackers is always welcome.

What I would like is an app similar to Ketarin that downloads all the latest portable apps that I like. I tried it will Ketarin once but they all failed on me. It doesn't like SourceForge for some reason.

Any cable, regardless of brand name, is a major money maker as Best Buy. I have a friend who works there and can get cables at cost. I asked him to get me a 10' USB cable which was on the shelf for $30. He got it for me at $3.49 (Best Buy's cost). That store is the biggest rip off going and I will not shop there.

Be careful. I traveled across county once and got a room that was 'Pet Friendly'. I was the nastiest smelling smokers room the hotel had and this was a national chain too. Use this site but take the recommendations with a grain of salt.

@jetRink: I wish I could help. My Dad bought a slide scanner that he has been terribly disappointed with. reviews on other methods haven't been much better.

@brodiemac: Then again, Congress argues all the time and barely gets anything done.

As I recall, I didn't see any arguing going on at the health care summit yesterday. Is that why they got nothing done?
