@Alfonzo: If it has SATA 3.0, put a 1.5 TB HDD in and install Ubuntu server. Install XBMC or VLC. Put all your MP3 on it and rip all your DVD movies to it. Plug it in to your TV, install a wireless keyboard and mouse. Now you have a kick ass media server that's as good as, but cheaper than, PPV.

@Buster Friendly: I have used that before but you must understand, the picture is already poster size. I just need to be able to print it.

I have downloaded the hardware poster that LH featured recently. I want to be able to print the whole thing on 8½x11 sheets of paper since I am not able to access a poster size printer. I've tried Gimp, Infranview and MS Office Picture Manager without any luck. Anyone have any suggestions on how to do this?

Site seems to be working.......somewhat. I was a little disappointed that there were no Cisco cheat sheets or posters. Anyone know of any good ones?

@Dalhamir: You need to guess the width. That's why this is an ESTIMATION. If you want an exact distance, pay a few hundred dollars for a laser range finder.

HOT DAMN!!!! I've been looking for something like this. I'm a hunter and (not to brag) a damn good shot but I can't determine distance to save my life. This little trick just closed that gap in my hunting skillz without having to buy some expensive gizmo.

Good god, why wouldn't you get renter's insurance? I had it in the early 90s when it cost less than $100 a year and it saved my a$$ why my apartment got looted one day. I got reimbursed for $4000 worth of stuff. That was far more money than I ever paid in premiums.

@RenfredScrimmer: Agreed. Splitting $10,000 up into multiple $1,000 will cut your returns by more than ½.

BAH! You all have nothing on this woman:

Ads on lifehacker? What ads? Oh yeah, I have AdBlock Plus running in Firefox. ;-)

@njgtechguy: Feel free to use the keys for the now outdated TurboTax software for this year's taxes. ;-)

Sweet! I'll add this along side Produkey and Wirelesskeyview on my thumbdrive.

I got a shellshocker email from [Newegg.com] today that included this deal:

Yahoo mail is crap! They do a horible job of SPAM control while Gmail does it right. I may go back if they ever address that issue.

It's great to use a sharp knife but most people do not know how to properly sharpen a knife. Most of those people buy some cheap "sharpener" that does nothing but ruing a good blade. Perhaps a good article on the art of blade sharpening is in order.

Not too long ago, lifehacker featured an artcile about a portable app that would backup all of your browser settings so you could port them to another computer. Can anyone recommend a similar application for Outlook?

@brodiemac: I should clarify; some checks, not all, have required hold times.
