I don't get it either. It seems like the trendy complaint to signify how tired the reviewers are of Marvel movies (which then gives them the freedom to consistently give them good reviews).

I agree, and I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who thought that Pete's decision to name the suit lady Karen was an homage to Sponge Bob! If he's anything like my kids, Sponge Bob played an important role in his upbringing.

The difference being that Spidey saved the train but failed to save the ferry. That's one of the things I didn't like about Spider Man 2 (which I think is seriously overrated). Spider-Man is strong, but he's not the Hulk or Superman. He shouldn't have been able to stop that train. Plus he had his mask off in front

The elevator scene was saved IMO by Spider Man' journey up the side of the Washington Monument- his hesitation and fear at the scale, his slipping on the stone and exhaustion as he climbed (but his determination not to fail), and his "welp, I'm going to die" before he flips over the helicopter.

I just don't understand why people think Spider Man 2 is so special. It was good, but I would put Homecoming and many (most?) of the Marvel Universe movies over it. I saw it when it came out and didn't understand the fawning over it then; I understand it even less now.

Winter Soldier did a great job at making Batroc seem like an intimidating, competent villain.

I just want to see whether Marvel has the guts to show one of Thanos' henchmen bash in Spidey's skull with a rock in Infinity War. I doubt it, even though it would be true to the comic.

I thought I'd feel the same way, but it didn't seem as bad to me during the movie. Still, I don't understand why studios give away so much in their trailers.

This movie did a great job improving on the source material with Shocker and Vulture, both some of Spidey's most forgettable enemies.

Logan had some interminable action scenes (especially the escape from the compound in Mexico) that really dragged. That and the basically unremarked upon and unlamented slaughter of the friendly farm family took Logan down a few notches in my estimation. Still a very good movie, but I was slightly disappointed. I

I thought this was slightly better than Logan. Haven't seen Wonder Woman.

Does anyone think naming the AI Karen was an oblique reference to the talking computer Karen in SpongeBob SquarePants?

I agree with the complaint about Spider-man's invulnerability. They could have called this "The Invincible Spider-Man".

Keaton nailed it. Vulture was both cool and sympathetic, which is hard to believe based on the lameness of Vulture in the comics.

I thought that the airplane sequence was a bit much, but which other set-piece didn't you like?

That's the joke

It's an all-time classic and obvious masterpiece.

I feel the same way. I think Spider-Man 2 is greatly overrated. It's good, but I think there are at least 6 or 7 Marvel movies that are better. I couldn't understand the fawning at the time and can understand it even less now. I think Homecoming is the best Spider-Man movie (but I haven't seen the Andrew Garfield

Definitely, I burst out laughing when that happened. The name "Liam" is often used as a nickname for guys named William. In my mind, WW William was in fact Liam McPoyle.

You are correct- I meant Invincible, not Unbreakable.
