Maharshala Ali has been cast as Blade for some time now but who knows when or if that movie will be made.

But Kang doesn't have to be buff.  His power comes from knowledge and technology.

I think you could easily insert a variant of Renslayer into the Kang role and it would work. Gugu Mbatha-Raw did a wonderful job in that role, making it pretty sinister in the end. If she could agree to selling her life to Marvel for the next half decade, the villain problem is solved.

I’m unaware of anyone claiming either movie is a financial success (Flower Moon appears to be a solid critical success), but both of those movies were made for AppleTV+. The theatrical run is for awards consideration and whatever $$ they get is a bonus.

I hope this hits streaming soon because it won’t be coming to my town. The populace would only be confused, anyway.

this looks about 10x better than i expected, if it clears the low bar of 3 i’ll be happy.

Yes. And I’m in the know and I hate the term because it’s weird Vince-adjacent bullshit. Wrestlers do not HAVE to be huge. It’s proscriptive nonsense that flies in the face of a LOT of wrestling history and culture, particularly lucha libre and Japanese talent.

Don’t you mean “only one remains”?

Thr charging you need to do for a rent a car isn’t the same as the charging prioritizing battery care you can do if you are a single user.

They’ll just regurgitate whatever Elon shat in their mouths about it.

You understand this happens all the time, right?

The number of people who cam in and said things like they should bulldoze all of Roxbury was pretty alarming.

I’m from Boston and was 9 when this happened. It was insanity. I remember where I was when (spoiler alert) Charles offed himself. I was in school. I swear my teacher turned on the news and we watched them search for his body.

People called it the crime of the century. I remember thinking, “Wait, of the past 100 years?

As he smokes, as he concentrates, an image of Dot at dinner with her family appears on the ceiling. “I see you,” he growls and the Dot, in his momentary vision, looks back.

It’s a much better movie than a lot of the post-Endgame stuff. I think the biggest issue is that people paying for Disney+ no longer feel like paying even more to see every MCU film a couple months earlier. There’s no sense of urgency to justify that extra expense now.

Haven’t the reviews been pretty positive? Meaning, this is more of a marketing failure, or a failure of overall studio strategy, rather than a lack of quality in the film?

I’ve never exactly been a fan of Iger, but I thought at least his return would be an improvement over Chapek’s time. Now it looks like he can’t even clear that low bar.

I caught that as well.  Evil Katherine Hepburn Mid-Atlantic

He called her that - but I don’t think it is his mother. Just a lady in a house he moved in to. The way he says “I’m going out, mama” reminded me of Crispin Glover in Wild at Heart making sandwiches - “I’m making MY LUNCH!”

I figure this is Leigh (not Lee...sorry, I AM that guy sometimes) doing a riff on her accent from the vastly (IMO) underrated Coen movie, The Hudsucker Proxy.
