I still felt pretty compelled to binge episodes when I started watching it a month or two ago. I wasn’t sure I was going to like it but I was pleasantly surprised. I really liked the other characters they put around him like Della and Paul.
Really beautiful design and photography. And I loved the characters and actors.
Agree with y0ur entire comment.
It can’t be worse than Steven Seagal.
The Pet Sematary remake has zero redeeming value. Nothing scary, nothing sad. The daughter getting run over by the semi truck is laugh out loud funny. At least in the original, Gage being run over was really horrifying.
They don't even mention Maximum Overdrive!
So ‘It Chapter Two’ belongs on this list but ‘Lawnmower Man’ doesn’t? Keep up the bad work, Mills.
I don’t think it’s that wierd, people can be two things. Most horrible people aren’t horrible to everyone in their life.
Weirdly enough, Tina said she basically emulates Lorne on how to manage people and she’s know for being great to work with.
They worked for decades to make people dumber, angrier, and easier to manipulate. Then along comes Donny and says “thank you very much, I’ll take that mob, make it even dumber and angrier, and ride it to power.” It has completely fucked them (and the country) up for a long time to come. Now they are in so deep they…
The Louis CK thing i dont care about, (I mean. dont care about them shelving it)-but DeSantis is fucking dangerous, he’s a threat to democracy as much as Trump, shelving any exposes about him is not good.
i got more than a little verklempt when i saw that the wedding arch flowers were done in the trans flag colors, especially when held in contrast to how Tricia initially responded (privately, to Sam) after scoring the gig.
I was meh about the first season but man, this really clicked with me. A few highlights for me were the depiction of her Dad (we do not get enough tv depictions of good, loving Dads), the joy of the wedding and Fred’s speech, and just the still-radical depiction of a larger woman living her life in ways so often not…
I love this show SO much! Thank you for your recaps/reviews all season. Fingers crossed for season 3!
I really hope we get a season 3, too. Sam still has a long way to go before she’s actually as mature as she thinks she is, so there’s plenty of emotional territory left to explore. But if we end here, I’ll be grateful for the two seasons we got. The funeral, reunion, and wedding were a great way to cap off this story.
I just finished watching Primo, then read this review and the comments.
It’s amusing that this review treats a show retreading sitcom tropes to generate heartwarming comedy-drama as a plus, when the writer is currently slagging Ted Lasso for... retreating sitcom tropes to generate heartwarming comedy-drama (as written, the review sounds like it’s even more formulaic.)
Plus, how likely is it that Cox observed anything weird on the X2 set? Even back then he was about 40 years too old for Singer to take any interest in him. Brian Cox wasn’t invited to the coke parties with barely legal twinks.
Eh, people can be two things. It’s a little out of touch to praise him at all but it’s not like Cox is saying Singer is a good guy.
