This reminds me of when British comics merged with each other, like 2000AD and Starlord, or Eagle and Scream, but a couple months down the like they reverted to their original title, and just kept the odd series or two from the other comic going.

Also, Showtime managed to make Twin Peaks The Return happen, so they’ll

Paramount + Cult Jam (with Full Force)

“All I wanted was Showtime, but I somehow ended up with a time-share.”

It doesn’t read as a dig, it reads as an acknowledgement of her most successful and long-running comedic roles.

As a queer person, I didn’t read it as a Bury Your Gays at all – they didn’t die because of homophobic brutality or tragedy, they died because they were old and content, it’s really the most beautiful, sweet, and sad episode of TV I’ve seen in a long time.

It’s getting easier to recognize what posts are getting written with ChatGPT.

There was one last week with Aubrey Plaza, ffs

“A rare mistake on the technical side?” SNL has been plagued with technical issues in recent years. Missed camera cues, sound issues, cue card mistakes. The camera coming into view was not the least bit surprising.

So would this have worked better with Seth Rogen as Ezra, and added more physical comedy to the narrative? Just wondering.

I sure as shit hope they don’t find a legitimate reason to rescind the nomination!!

They license a decent bit out from the other studios, too. On rare occasions they’ll play more recent fare like Phantom Thread, Selma, or Brokeback Mountain.

The Batman serial on now was made during WII, so there are Japanophobic slurs and characterizations. TCM rotates these serials on a regular basis and will likely later show another Batman made later in the 40s with different actors playing Bruce and Dick, the latter looking like he hit the gym whenever possible and

It would be awesome if TCM could launch a streaming service (or have a more substantial presence than their so-so hub in HBO Max.) It’s the one thing I really miss since I dropped my cable package years and years ago, especially since they still regularly have films that are otherwise nearly impossible to see anywhere

Barris’ direction is mostly rote...

I just moved a few years ago to a place where we pretty much have to have cable/internet etc. Which is fine, we can afford it, and I’ve found out that...

Same!  I love the 10 minute outro and intro.  I love that even crappy Noir films get attention, like a couple months back one film has a literal car crash ending and Eddie is pretty merciless to it as he should.

I adore Noir Alley, watch it every week

Oh thank god.  The thought of someone messing with TCM is unthinkable.  So long as Noir Alley and Eddie Mueller stick around, I'll be somewhat content with life.

Question: Is this the first time Eddie Murphy and Julia Louis-Dreyfus have worked together since being on SNL about [gasp - feeling very old] about 40 or so years ago?

I think the point (clumsily made) is that it’s unsurprising she can easily handle any task thrown at her, for exactly the reason you cite.
