I’ve never seen the show, but I ADORE Kish and her show on Nat Geo about restaurants at the ‘end’ of the world. Maybe I’ll dive into this too.

A good friend of mine’s father was stressed out watching ‘Meet the Fockers’ because he felt so frustrated for the hell that Stiller’s character was enduring. I was like ‘well I know a movie that would send you into cardiac arrest, then!’

I definitely thought of this film when I saw ‘Beau is Afraid’!

Same scenario here, I was a freshman in college too. And it was a big Friday night opening weekend when I went to see it in Westwood, CA at the Bruin. The audience did NOT respond well. The few chuckles at the beginning faded into exhausted and stunned silence. The BIGGEST laugh that I recall was when some

I actually think its the best of the series. I’m doubtful they will surpass this one, but one never knows.

Agreed.

I said to the person I watched it with: “We didn’t see his body in the casket...he’s not dead.” There is NOTHING subtle about this series so, to my mind, that without us seeing his body IN the ground he’s still somehow surviving. I definitely didn’t get the impression the two friends at the gravesite were

Totally agree. Even if it was a gut shot, she has on a vest, no?

I totally expected Clarke to get up and take off her bullet proof vest and transform back into her human visage. I STILL expect that next episode. Why would ANY of these agents walk about without a vest???

Since there will be a War Machine movie starring Cheadle, I’m guessing this will be a Skrull impersonating him in this show, but not for ALL the time we’ve been aware of Rhodes.

Celebrity or not, I’m ALWAYS pulling for anyone struggling with this disease. I’m absolutely pulling for her to be here and healthy with her family.

I have to say I had the same feeling as you did. But from number three on, they have increasingly become a fun summertime ride. They are just a series of intricate action set pieces the always include Cruise looking incredibly intense. For my money, they are way more entertaining than the Bond series. Those movies

Exactly! They made it abundantly clear the villains were racist. Using that word would not only be overkill, but it would also underline the writer(s) didn’t know how to get that point across otherwise. They did it just fine.

I thought the ending was spot on and terrific. This reviewer seems to have gone in with the intent of NOT enjoying it.

Partial payback for him publicly shitting all over the previous movie.

Right?! How are reviewers like this just totally slagging this movie? I had a ball, as did the entirety of my friends and family who went with me. We ALL had smiles (and some wet eyes) afterwards!

The ‘this part doesn’t hurt’ bit return actually drew tears out of me. I didn’t expect that.

Absolutely! I think its very clear he’s unhappy at least (drinking a lot) and depressed at most. He’s become the cranky old man who (probably) often bangs on that ‘kid’s door with the baseball bat. I feel like the reviewer was willfully blind here.

As a black fan of the series, I can’t say I was bothered by much in it. Yes, her character doesn’t really add a lot, but that can be said of MANY supporting characters in the series. And, yes, I was sufficiently put off by the Nazis’ racism. But they are FUCKING Nazis and I’m happy to be outraged by the VILLAINS so

Agreed! I’m all PRO-Imperioli right now!
