I have a fairly nervous dog whose first reaction to being startled is to bite. For example, my boyfriend went to pet him with his foot while the dog was sleeping and he bit him. He’s also bitten people for accidentally stepping on his foot, which is more understandable but I hate that his first reaction is to bite.
