I almost always watch movies/tv with the subtitles on.  Thanks to too many loud concerts (looking at you, Bob Mould), my hearing just isn’t what it used to be.

Sandals? Well, for flip flops get the Reef Fanning.  Comes with a bottle opener built into the sole.  Makes you a hero at many a gathering.

I used to ride South on Dexter after crossing the Fremont Bridge. I had some many Dooring close calls I finally switched to Westlake bike track.  The Uber/Lyft drivers pulling into and out of the bike lane are the worst.

I’ve been doing the daily bike commute (~20 miles round trip) for over 6 years now here in Seattle. And it can be terrifying. Haven’t been hit yet (knock on wood), but I’ve had about a billion close calls. I try to ride safe...keep my head on a swivel...use bike lanes/paths as much as I can...make eye contact with…

I cannot speak to the experience of the VA, but anyone who’s defending the current Health Care system in this country has clearly never spent 90 minutes on hold trying to make an appointment with a doctor, just to get a referral for a specialist who doesn’t have any openings for 6 weeks.

I have two teen-aged daughters who watch LO:SVU on their phones all the time.

A few years back I met a guy who’s daughter was a Div I golfer on a full-ride scholarship.  I said ‘Wow...full ride.  That’s awesome’.  And he told me that with everything they’d spent on private lessons, clubs, travelling to tournaments, etc it would have been cheaper just to pay her way himself.
