Sorry, but saying ‘actually helped’ after 26 people were brutally murdered, in a church, is insane.

Serious question: Will Boomtown just make me all angry again about the Sonics being stolen? It seems like the kind of book that is right in my wheelhouse, but I don’t want to get all pissed off at Howard Schulz, Clay Bennett, David Stern, and Greg Nichols again.
I know people who have medals in sailing. Olympic class sailing is insanely hard.
The documentary is great. This looks like....not so much.
Big Sam is the only logical choice for ManU. It is destiny.
Which spot gets filled first...Trump’s (next) Chief of Staff, or Oscar Host? Perhaps the right person could get both jobs!
Courtney Barnett was great. Parquet Courts was a bunch of fun. Superchunk were awesome. But probably the best was Pearl Jam, playing ‘The Home Shows’ here in Seattle. Lots of fun covers, guest appearances, 3 1/2 hours long, and they raised about $12 million for homelessness.
But we can’t make Election Day a national holiday...
I was just about to post the same thing. Being able to see the highlights at halftime was huge...because you didn’t see them anywhere else.
I’m old-ish, so I definitely remember Howard Cosell. Bars used to have promotions during MNF games where someone would win a brick, and have the right to throw it through a TV when they’d had enough of him.
Saw these guys a few weeks ago. Awesome show...
At my previous job, at a lab doing brain science/neurological research, the experimenters would show the opening 3' 20" tracking shot from ‘Touch Of Evil’ to mice running on wheels so they could monitor what parts of the visual cortex would fire at different points in time.
I recently told one of my new, much younger co-workers that I’ve never seen an Adam Sandler movie. He looked at me in stunned silence.
On the list for one of the best shows I’ve seen...
Personally, I love cooking for a group. I’m big on the whole cheesy “food is love” thing, and I love seeing a table full of people enjoying what I’ve worked on all afternoon. Thanksgiving (its all about the gravy) and Christmas are huge for me. Two years ago I did porchetta for Christmas, and it was amazing.
Hell yeah. Guanciale is awesome.
Back when I was single, I loved to cook for myself. Great way to unwind...pick out some crazy new recipe (the Epicurious or New York Times cooking websites are great), have a couple of beers/wine, put on some music, and go to work. Totally zen, and hopefully you get a great meal, and some great leftovers, out of it.
Yes, the Slocumb trade, in retrospect, looks terrible, but at the time, the M’s were desperate for a closer (anyone remember Bobby “Swung on and belted!” Ayala?), and Slocumb came in and helped get the M’s to the playoffs.
Chopping firewood is awesome...until you have to do it for 2 1/2 hours every day after school for about 3 months. I think I still have the calluses on my hands. And my god....the chainsaw my father had used to scare the hell out of me. The thing (a Husqvarna) was a motorcycle with a blade.
With great cookies too! Boooooo to Haman!
