By all means pick someone else. Have Malon/marin as the protagonist. Hell, can you imagine how much everyone would freak if we FINALLY got to play as sheik? Chain whip and needles and all that crazy ninja shit from smash bros but in a zelda game?

(And hey, why not let players choose if Link is a boy or a girl in the next one?)

Loved Xenogears; thought Xenosaga was fine. (I don’t think I even played the third. I’d love to play the trilogy again, though - hopefully Namco remasters it at some point.)

Persona 4 did not come out this decade. It came out in 2008.
