I also read The Leftovers before I saw the show, and I couldn’t stand the latter.

Right? It's so weird there hasn't been a post of some kind. Then again I spent the morning reading about the craziness behind the scenes at Jezebel so who knows what the hell's going on

Man, that SatC partnership really hasn’t gone the way Peloton would have hoped.

Hell, she’d be fine with trans women being denied service for being trans. That’s how strong the cognitive dissonance is in Republicans.

My thoughts exactly, and beautifully described. Thank you.

It just seems at best very annoying at at worst extremely manipulative and gross that Ye broadcasts his relationship intent this way because then anytime Kim encounters press, she’s going to be asked to respond directly to a thing he’s said elsewhere. It’s really, really scummy.

Caitlyn Jenner says she was denied service

He wasn’t just awful, he was pretentious and reeked of the “I’m an artist, so I’m more insightful than you” school of thought.

Yep. North and Saint were in the audience with her, which makes it even more manipulative. He’s the worst.

Actually, I don’t think there is anything sweet about Kanye’s public pleas for Kim to do as he wants. The man has been told no. He’s using the public forum (which I suspect puts a lot of pressure on Kim because she appears so image conscious) like a weapon. He can suck it. He was a crummy husband. He needs to move on

Yeah, but they all had it comin’.

Me too! I think we all get that the original show is dated and problematic and blah blah blah. It started in 1998. I’m in grad school with people who weren’t even born when the show started. This would be like my generation saying how awful some show from 1978 was in 2001. Wow, times changed?! Who knew!?

You know, I’m looking forward to seeing older women occupy a screen for a change. Sex and the City was of its time, and not particularly deep, but it was fun. I don’t understand the deep vitriol that some display. I think all professional sports are stupid, for example, but I don’t log onto sports pages to comment

It was also lovely, and sad to see Stanford. RIP, Willie Garson.

I think we need a Sex and the City re-reboot with just Sam and the good side characters: Enid, piano Bobby, Blair Underwood, the sexy underwear model, early-stage Smith, Margaret Cho, the jazz club owner, and Jennifer “Purse Party mayhem” Coolidge.

“It feels cruel to wish for Big’s death...”

I do not like Forrest Gump. I think it was very well made and finely acted; the visual effects are great. But I do not like it. Mainly because this simple man was involved in all these amazing events and is too simple to understand the significance of any of it. He spends the entire movie longing for the only woman

Yes and also how did you not see it as a kid?

I watch A Christmas Story every year. No shame here. Good movie.

Half a star for you, It’s a Wonderful Life is terrible, Christmas Story is just way overexposed.
