My parents and most of their friends also do this. I think it’s a requirement in order to retire from certain professions.

I was so excited to visit NYC for the first time as a teenager in the 90s. As soon as we put our stuff down in the hotel we went out to find dinner and happen to wander into B. Smith’s restaurant on 46th street for our first NYC meal. It’s been more than 20 years and I’ve had countless meals at restaurants in NYC

Unless Michael is now a fellow inmate in the Bad Place because of his treachery.

Long before 50 Shades of Grey, Sub Rosa was the OG example of smutty fanfiction that somehow managed to get produced.

I have never been able to take Billy Campbell seriously on account of this episode.

I was bored one day while working at an office job and took it upon myself to clean and organize our communal supply closet. This was only a few years ago but I was finding shit from the 80s that no one had ever bothered to clean out. Most people will just ignore or push aside anything that doesn’t affect them

Yes, I understand that but I was speaking of a theoretical situation in which he abdicated his place in order to marry Camilla like he wanted to in the 1970s.  He wouldn’t have had any sons by this point so it would have gone to Andrew.

When it comes right down to it, I suppose Charles could have done the same thing for Camilla, although I'd never considered it before.  Though I'm quite sure everyone is glad that Andrew isn't next in line for the throne now.

He’ll do anything for love, except believe in climate change.

This was literally the first time I realized Imagine Dragons had more than one hit song.

Deep Space 9 was episodic only for a few seasons.  By the end it was nearly completely devoted to the overarching plot of the war between the Federation and the Dominion.  You definitely can't just dip in anywhere and have it make any sense.

Most Star Trek series but especially Deep Space 9 and Voyager.  Quantum Leap was also going that direction but got cancelled before they could do much with the overarching plot.  Supernatural is a more recent example.

Maybe that's why he was such a rough looking 27.

Exactly. The X-files was at its best when it had a good ratio of mythology to monster of the week episodes.  It was also common across all the Star Trek series to a varying degree.

Thanks for that! I hadn’t really been able to put my finger on what I liked about the show so much. But I realize that it's the fact that there's an engaging plot that doesn't rely on bamboozling the viewer with non-linear storytelling and wild reveals. I liked the first season of Westworld but this show is its polar

The face reveal had me so relieved because I was terrified they were going to make him an alien or deformed for no reason.

I love how often they gently give the finger to George Lucas.  Christmas Special reference in the first episode then a million instances of "parsec" being used correctly.

My aunt had a coworker named Dick Sieman.  That's the worst I've personally encountered.

It does. My roommate somehow had no idea that Lenny Bruce was a real person and assumed he was fictional just like everyone else. She had a completely different emotional reaction to their interactions than I did. She’s now huffy that I made their cute little flirtation extremely depressing.

That was also how I interpreted it.  I thought it was clear that she only decided to revive her after she read the note and realized that she just wanted to be emancipated and wasn’t possessed by a crazy 17th century French satanist.
