Well said. I’m sad to see it go but so, so, happy it existed at all. What a little miracle of a show.

This show is such a treasure, I had worried that it was ignored because it doesn’t seem to get discussed much. The acting is top notch across the board, especially McClarnon. The scenery alone would be worth the watch though.
Yes, this! They conviently ignore that people can be black and trans! But they’re not interested in how Caitlyn Jenner’s experience differs from Laverne Cox’s. They are only interested is refusing the same support to Cox that they would to cis folks.
Walter White was supremely unlikable, so much so that I peaced out of after the first season and only came back after people told me it had improved. I wouldn’t say Draper was likeable either, just charming and watchable.
That abortion thing was so weirdly written too. It clearly wasn’t a character making that decision according to their personality and beliefs as presented in the work, it just swerved in out of nowhere as authorial commentary. There was a similar random thing with Israel is the later comics, iirc.
It’s more than a good faith argument, it’s one of the concepts incorporated into copyright law. Transformative use allows for reinterpretation and deconstruction. Adaptation is generally regarded as derivative work.
Indeed, the “absolutely bonkers” part is what makes the film. Any film that has an octopus playing drums is AOK in my book.
Then she should really just say that. I’d respect more than her statement that the world somehow needs her show.
Eh, if you go down that road you’d wind up with a million categories. Not every actor is right for every part for any number of reasons related to their identity. An 80 year old won’t go up for the same part as an 18 year old either. Should we have age categories?
I think you might be confusing him with Toby Maguire
Again, the thing everyone else is pointing out is that you don’t have to stand by rapists as their friend. You can male them your ex-friend instead. Being a rapist should be a one-way ticket to being an ex-friend.
You’re missing the part where you shouldn’t be friends with a rapist.
I thought all parts of a trial became part of the public record, with exceptions being made for material involving minors or the identity of victims/informants/classified information. During a trial, the release of info may be limited but they are those restrictions are usually lifted after the trial.
Sure, he’s a rapist, but what matters is that he’s anti-drug!
He didn’t rape anyone in front of Deborah Jo Rupp!
I also think the adult shows play into the themes of the younger kids. Rita and the elders from the previous ep are dealing with similar trauma that was incurred at the same age as the teens. Tita talking with the ghost of her long gone friend could be Elora looking back in 20 years at the loss of her teenage friend.…
You mean once I read you actual words. Lol sure OK buddy. If you want to take that sentence back, be my guest.
What you said was “This. Nepotism opens doors. Absolutely. Is it unfair? Sure. Life is unfair. News at 11.”
There’s a huge difference between say, giving advice and manipulating the system (by insisting they get cast, for example). If I were in the industry, I’d also towards making the casting system more open and equitable instead of shrugging my shoulders and saying “life’s not fair” and doing fuck all. What bothers me is…
All I said was “We should try to make the world a more fair and meritocratic place” and it is not a radical level setting. It’s baseline human decency. I can send my kid to university while advocating for increased educational accessibility for all. I can provide my kid with lunch while advocating for every child to…
