I have to disagree. While I understand that the plenary powers doctrine has survived limpingly through to the modern era, this kind of thing would be the perfect blow to strike it dead. I think the interaction with the First Amendment would also be a nail in the coffin for any such law.

Forget the baby (not really) — they had a fucking TREADMILL. Why the fuck you working out if you’ve got a peace-out date planned?

It’s tragic that BurtReynoldsIsMySpiritGuide (Rebecca Rose) is no longer around to have written this Dirt Bag. She’d explode.

I can’t see Burt Reynolds’ name without missing Rebecca Rose.

Please don’t call shelter workers “murderers”, thankyouverymuch. We don’t like having to euthanize, but we also can’t cram animals five to a cage, let them loose on the street, or refuse to take them in. Our burnout rate is high and ignorant comments such as yours do not help.

I’m in the “more good than harm” camp. Unless it’s some super champion show dog I don’t see breeders going this route when millions of dogs are perfectly capable of reproducing for free, as the OP rightly said. And even then, easy conception and delivery is something “good” breeders aim for so if a female couldn’t get

I work at a rescue foundation, but you didn’t read the article did you?

So because some people might use it for less than ideal things, fuck the people who are using it for actual objectively good reasons?

While I understand your passion, ethical breeders serve an essential service to many people. And tools which help them to continue to breed dogs for specific purpose driven traits are a good thing. Utility (SAR) and service organizations (guide dogs, mobility dogs, etc) have found it so close to impossible to pull

The research isn’t strictly about making test tube dogs. They’re using it as a proof-of-concept for other species who have estrous cycles and/or don’t ovulate mature oocytes.

I LIVED in Esprit from 6th to 8th grade. I moved to a new town, and I recall that my mom was worried about me fitting in. So she bought me a shit-ton of insane color-blocked chunky knits with coordinating shirts and stirrup pants. I was Esprit from head to toe (except for my color-coordinated Mia flats, natch). I

Weird. I feel like she was referenced recently before this tragedy.

It’s the whiff of unexamined privilege and subsequent entitlement that sours me. Their hearts are in the right place, but they shoot themselves in the feet *every time* because they lack actual perspective.

Thanks for highlighting their education reporting. I feel like they didn’t get enough attention for both that work and the education and desegregation work that has to be done in this country.

Considering that situation involves multiple reports, possible witnesses and was apparently well known in the industry for a while, I give it more credence than I give allegations by one person during a divorce proceeding.

Oh, for fuck's sake. Now people are just being ridiculous.

Soooo...you want to remind people that he might have done a thing, but you don’t know, though you seem very prepared to assume, and also something something difficult on set something something eccentric personality, here’s a clip of Maya Rudolph not giving a shit about something you need to turn into a thing to give

I’m no Bill Murray apologist, and I think it’s probably more likely than not that there is at least some truth to the accusations (if not that they’re entirely true) . . . but there is a big contextual difference between allegations only made (and later withdrawn) in the midst of a contentious divorce, and say, the

Meanwhile, some celebrities who were actually convicted of their abusive crimes (Taryn Manning beat her girlfriend and pled guilty, Jon Hamm hammered a kid’s balls and pled guilty) are often lauded. It’s odd.

We’re living in “takedown culture” and it’s how sites like Jezebel keep the lights on.
