Basically they’re mad that Kaep is alive enough to still make (good) money. What do they want? He’s out of the NFL! I honestly believe these peeps think he doesn’t deserve life or liberty. It is soooo frustrating when you tell someone over and over that the kneeling has absolutely effing nothing to do with disrespectin

this person should be jailed....

I told my fiance last night, “Anyone who watches this ad and is mad was already mad and just looking for a reason to bitch

The right way to protest is:

There are white trolls Tweeting that the entirety of the commercial “should” be dismissed because Serena was born in Michigan and not born in Compton, even though she was raised there, learned to play tennis there, and iDs herself as from there.

Which is, they shouldn't be protesting at all, according to them.

I came across this Facebook post from a Black police officer, and he’s also member of National Black Police Organization. I was 0retty surprised by their responses. By the looks of it there are a lot of NBPO members who are upset that the NAPO letter was published. Publishing it as if Black officers are co-signing

Obviously the underlying subtext of the commercial was his protest just because he was the one narrating it but, right, the commercial itself had nothing to do with the protest.  It’s an inspirational message to young athletes everywhere and perfectly pairs with Serena’s commercial of her dad instructing her on that

What is so so un-ironically funny here is that if the police want to remove any hint of mistrust or dissonance, they could do the following:

If I felt I could trust the police, as a whole, to identify and punish those among them who do those bad things, then I’d probably feel a lot better about police as a whole.

This letter itself shows even they themselves can’t distinguish between the two. And if they can’t, how the heck would a civilian?

I still cant believe that police dont see that the average person cant differentiate between the two

These triggered snowflakes “won” and forced Kaep to take his protests off their precious gridiron. So what in the commercial had ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING to do with the flag, the troops or cops; even the white ones?

Its not that they are protesting, its that they are not protesting “the right way”

“For NAPO to presuppose that Mr. Kaepernick has not made sacrifices because he did not die on a battlefield, shows you just how out of touch NAPO is with the African American community,” adding that: “If they had asked the NBPA, we would have told them they were out of line.”

An organization of white supremacists get angry when a worldwide profit-making company features an ad with a person who has protested unchecked violence by the same white supremacist organization.

If any of this were ever about the flag, these same “Respect the Troops” would be shitting themselves over those “Thin Blue Line” American flags I keep seeing.

Well, people go out of their way to not understand, especially if it challenges their established worldview.

Even if certain things/events don’t happen to you or effect you personally, isn’t it possible that since they happen to others, these events effect others? And shouldn’t/wouldn’t that make their outlook viable? Unfortunately you can’t have a rational discussion with irrational people, so there’s always going to be
