I think that was actually really cool of him. Sometimes women don’t know how a man will react to being rejected. For a lot of people I think it’s easier to say, “Sure.” and take a number and never call someone than to flat out say no and deal with the awkwardness. There’s no way to know but I think we can safely say that the hazing and racist crap that Martin had to put up with helped to trigger it.
