BFing was faster after the first couple of weeks. Before that, though, my baby was not good at nursing and I was a first time mom, and it took us a while to get the hang of it. I’m glad we stuck it out, but it was hard work at the start.

My work has lots of meetings there, so I’m there at least twice a year. I have found that if I ask nicely, they’re very nice about it and very willing to accommodate me. I get the feeling that it’s not an uncommon request.

See, the thing is, I don’t really give a fuck if my choosing to never eat Hate Chicken with Pickle sandwiches impacts the Catheys in any way. I don’t want to spend my money there, because I would not feel good about myself if I did. So I don’t. I am not obligated to spend my money with any business I don’t want to.

Saying “You don’t deserve the same rights as I do,” is not a difference of opinion. It’s denying someone else’s humanity.

That depends. In Florida, at least, housekeeping is essentially piecework--housekeepers get paid per room cleaned rather than an hourly wage. 

Some people need to get over themselves. DND is not a magical force field; any hotel worker can enter your room at any time, and after Las Vegas, many hotels are unwilling to permit this. 

Many hotels have prohibited this after the Las Vegas shooting. If you don’t want housekeeping service, that’s okay, but then someone from security must come in your room at least once per day. You are welcome to be there when they do, but if you’re out and it’s been 24 hours, they’re going in. 

I have it on my laptop, which got it selected for special attention going through TSA recently. I had to pull up pictures of Woody Guthrie on my phone before they chilled out. 

We should make “This Land Is Your Land” the new National Anthem. Normal people can sing it, the lyrics aren’t cringey, and it is inclusive rather than militaristic. 

I have made impressions of paw prints from each animal I’ve owned. My dad has made paw prints with ink on index cards for each of his dogs, and then he has had them tattooed on his inner forearm with their name. 

But you can’t lay down in a main cabin. You can’t really recline enough to take the weight of your head off your neck, even, so what’s the point?

That’s exactly right. A embryo/fetus who cannot survive outside the womb is not a person and cannot compel a woman to house it against her will. Just like a woman can’t be compelled to donate a kidney to even a close relative, even if the putative recipient will die without it.
