I made my way out to Topeka Raceway this season as there was word that it might be the last Top Fuel race there ever and perhaps my last opportunity to see one in person. I would describe the event as something that you not only hear, but you feel as well. You feel it in your chest. Seeing the event is a must-do for

What’s your reasoning behind this? Also, he was speaking of the new LT engines, not the LS (but the point is the same).

Is breakfast pizza leftover pizza from the night before, or is it some sort of quiche like pizza involving eggs?

Anyone else seeing a shark in this photo?

Two things. First, the Royals really only threw at players once or twice which was dumb, but certainly overblown (Herrara and Ventura come to mind). Secondly, Springer getting hit was an accident. It was a close game and Springer was hit on his back hand meaning he was only hit because he stepped into the pitch.

I have a very similar story from 2009 regarding my first motorcycle, a beautiful 1988 Honda Hawk GT in blue. I had owned the bike for just a week or so when I decided to ride it from my college town to a city 2 hours away where my girlfriend lived. I parked it outside her apartment for the night, and you can probably

I’m getting a strong S2000 vibe from this angle.

There are rules to all of this? Who knew. I enjoy the videos and articles either way.

I got 30 mpg driving from Detroit to Kansas City in a C5 with a 6spd. They are amazing on the highway. In town, things change quite a bit, though.

So you didn’t sell it to the kid and it still ended up being wrecked?

It’s on a dyno...he isn’t going anywhere.

JGuts might not be starting anymore for the Royals, but he remains one of my favorite players due to stuff like this. He comes across as a genuinely nice and funny guy.

Do SBCs and other 16 valve V8s not count in your pop quiz?

Sure, Oklahoma has two tough games back to back with Baylor (11/14) and TCU (11/21), but they have three weeks off leading up to those games to rest after playing Texas Tech on 10/24.

Having just driven one from Detroit to Kansas City, I have to say I was really impressed with how comfortably and economically the C5 Corvette eats up highway miles. You loaf along at 1500 RPM getting 30 MPG in what turns out to be a very pleasant (albeit plasticy) interior.

Actually, it is pretty damn good. If you’re ever in Springfield, MO (I don’t know why you would be), it’s worth going to.

Well, depending on the quality of EMTs operating this ambulance, you might be looking at one.

As a Chiefs fan from Kansas City, I am used to rabid fandom when it comes to sports. When visiting San Diego a few years ago, I was shocked to not see a single fan. There were no Chargers signs, bumper stickers, tacky tattoos, etc. Nothing. Granted, if I lived in San Diego, I wouldn’t be a Chargers fan either.

I’ve always really liked these. The two-tone is a neat look, the power is legitimate, and it’s a wagon/SUV that offers tons of practicality.

Not making the connection of “midget” to dirt track car made for an interesting mental image.
