The ending aside, I actually enjoyed seeing Rick fall apart. There was something extremely satisfying about watching him realize that he had no recourse. Something about that was real to me.

I should've read this before I commented! Excellent!

Why the cheesy lightsaber?

Watched the episode again….Carol is not gone. The scene where the zombie falls down the stairs and Rick has to pull Carol out of harms way illustrates why Rick could not have left Carol on her own. After he pulls her out of the way he glances down at her in a way that suggests that she might not be able to survive

I really don't think she's gone. there was clearly someone in the back of the car. It's more interesting if he brings her back. Kicking her out is almost the same as killing her off which might still happen. But I agree she was becoming one of the most interesting characters and Melissa McBride is awesome. Right now

I think Carol was in the back of the car. You could make out her faded shirt in the rear view mirror. It's why Rick kept looking back. I don't think he could let her go. And more importantly I don't think the writers could let her go.

He screamed "Ty!!!"
