I think that was more she knew he could read her thoughts and wanted to test him. Or wanted to make sure only he heard what she had to say.
So wait, did I miss it or does Melanie have no powers? I don't believe we've seen any indication that she does. Also, Oliver's sudden little epiphany ("Melanie") at the end is heartbreaking given that his body is immediately hijacked.

Seems like everyone here likes the show, but I have to agree that with the reviewer that it's slow and plodding. I'm kind of sick of watching a brooding Tom Hardy not develop at all. And it certainly does not need to be longer than an hour.

Did anyone else get the feeling that Michael Gross' dad character immediately saw through the bullshit, realized that his son needed this for whatever reason, and played along? That was my take on it.
