My thoughts exactly. I blame the retailers. Hell, even Walmart had a tweet SAYING that “Why wait? pre-order it now!” like bragging they jumped the gun! 

I don’t think Sony is exactly to blame. They made a plan to start preorders the day after their announcement and retailers said F-you and jumped the gun. It could’ve just been Walmart who did it first. Once they jumped the gun everybody else followed suit. You could maybe blame Sony for maybe not setting clear…

Because in the time it’s taken the game to finally show itself, loot shooters...haven’t proven to be a hot item. There are two that have any sort of acclaim: Destiny and Warframe. That’s it. The genre just hasn’t proven to have staying power.
