Jacoby's rants make *some* sense after reading The Secret History of Twin Peaks. After what happened to Laura, Jacoby fully realized and accepted his complete failure as a doctor, and had his license taken away…and I'm sure 25 years without his calling has done a number on an already-eccentric mind.
