Are we sexist pigs? Yes. Narcissists, though? Hell no!

While I disagree a bit with "meaningless," you're right.

God though, I never thought as a progressive that I'd long for McCain or W. like I do now faced with Trump.

I can agree with that. I'm in the same situation right now personally, though a little complicated. I'm registered Green, supported Bernie, and will vote for Stein. That said, no, I don't think Hillary is unqualified, and I think she'd make a fine president. It's just that Stein (obviously given my registration) fits

No vote you believe in is wasted. That sounds like schlock, but I believe it to be true.

Let's say that's true: you know she actually wrote all that stuff too, right?

That's a great point - can I distill your point (Clark only trying to show his family a good time because he loves them) to one word? Heart.

Like, fan theory moment, I would not be surprised if his part is so significant that it's actually villainous. They ogle him and fight over him all movie, but it turns out he's just been duping them.

You could maybe say Get Hard with Ferrell and Kevin Hart, who have audiences that don't overlap a ton, but then at the same time you have to consider that Judd Apatow largely "discovered" Hart, and Apatow/Ferrell have collaborated.

But, to the remake's fault, it's still possible to do "ugly and mean spirited" well. They brutally (albeit unintentionally) murder a dog in the original, yet it's played so subtly that it's actually funny. Obviously not showing the dog at all is why, but it's an extremely gruesome idea.

Good talk, Russ.

Your Iggy Pop-loving son sounds rad!

I still hadn't seen it front-to-back until a year ago or so, so after jumping in halfway through one day, I didn't get the joke at first when they zoom in on those shoes since I missed Eddie giving them to Clark. I just thought "Oh cool, he's dressing up really fancy!"

I think Hemsworth might very well steal that movie. (And does anybody else think there's more to his character than just some secretary? I feel like they're planning some kind of surprise twist with him.)

Is there an equivalent today? Being totally serious, I've always thought of Horrible Bosses in that manner - combining SNL, Always Sunny, and Arrested Development (which do have some cross-breeding amongst themselves, but still seem like relatively distinct entities to me).

You're right.

Said this above, it's a relatively fresh concept because of that, and also that "Christmas" as a concept and "vacation" as a concept are both equally full of humor (even down to family inside jokes that ultimately are universal), yet still distinct, different concepts.

Maybe, but to a new-to-the-industry 13-y/o, is there a huge difference?

Hmm, I never thought of it that way. I'll have to rewatch it with that in mind. But that means I'd have to get through the sucky parts (see: Freaks and Geeks).

Nah, that's Arthur Fonzarelli.
