Yeah, Laura Dern wore pretty much normal clothing in the original and I wasn't distracted one way or the other.

I feel like if they restricted as much as they could of the "forced sharing" into the post-credits scenes, they'd be much better for it. Let the movie be the movie, then let a 1-minute teaser at the end of the credits set up the connections. That way it's not getting in the way of everything else.
