You're an idiot.

Or the '80s action movies like Robocop and Terminator with all the stopmotion sequences. Sure they're a little awkward to watch, but they don't detract at all from the films overall I think.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they were animating toys and everyday objects when they started messing around with the computer animation, then realized they could actually do something with them. If they had waited until they could convincingly humans, their first movie would've been much later than 1995.

Never thought of that, great point. That's partly why I found "Up" so endearing, that they were so stylized.

Disney is slowly bleeding Pixar in order to bolster Disney Animation Studios.

After reading this, especially the abuse theories, Sid's house's "Shining" carpet is even more horrifying.

I think 3 is miles better than 2. Also, 3 benefited from the long gap since 2. Less churned out and had a lot of time to be developed and thought about.

Honest question, how do you feel in retrospect barely having been allowed to own a Barbie?

House of Dicks

He's implying that Ramis was stupid!

His chef only needed to provide jelly beans. Anybody could've done that.

I thought about this recently myself, and determined the following things had to be present in any '70s/'80s comedy:
1. Boobs
2. Weed
3. Infidelity/casual cheating

I know the feeling

"Quit stealing my goddamn ideas!"

Your "employer sponsorship" theory is the most plausible, even without a degree. He was in the middle of making a website, so he must've had at least some skills.

As far as his behind-the-camera work, Ramis reminds me of a Robert Smigel type, in that he's been behind so much more than you would think.

Are there legal DVD releases of SCTV? I've never really watched it (far too young to have seen it while it was going on).

Ghostbusted

Do you mean "bawling?"
