I have a MK7 with the 1.8T and the manual, and it is my favorite car I have ever owned. You summed it up well.

They sure did. My 2016 has a 6spd which is a delight. The clutch is light but definitive and the gearbox is pretty crisp. My only gripe is that there is hill assist and I think it’s kind of fun to roll back on takeoff!
