Saw headline: was excited!

For a long time in my late teens through mid 20s, I was a Panther fanboi who owned appx eight of them over that time period. I finally quit the pipe when even with the best tuning, a stock Golf was more enjoyable to drive. You’re absolutely right, Ford had better powertrains at the time that they should have used.

I always thought it was to add weight over the rear axle. Floor or trunk mounted would change the weight distribution.

You know Rob, I thought today was going to overall suck as hard as yesterday did, but I logged onto Jalopnik, saw this headline, and had the biggest belly laugh that I’ve had in weeks. Thank you for bringing humor into our lives :D

I feel like I’m in a small minority, but as long as we mathematically have enough vaccine for everybody, give me a fucking shot EVERY WEEK if that’s what it takes for me not to get Covid. I’m tired of this.  I’m tired of a gut reaction to watching a movie from fifteen years ago and seeing a crowd shot and thinking

Stop it with your calm, reasonable take ;)

10000% get your feeling. For a while, I was a young father with a small SUV (Subaru) and a truck for house stuff (8’ bed F150 two seater). Then I had a kid and got a big dog…and while in 90% of things I didn’t need the back seat…that 10% really influenced how much I used the truck.

Is the bed that much smaller? The “old” (pre-12) Ranger had a 7’ box max, but most trucks had a 6’ bed.  The Maverick gets four real seats and a 6’ bed with the tailgate down.  Yeah you’re sacrificing maybe 9” of bed space, but you’re getting a back seat that can fit humans.  My point is, seems like a small compromise

It’s also about the same size as a Civic. So.

I didn’t say it was favorable to them. In fact I’m quite horrified that the school district may think of their families this way. However, logically, I think it’s the analogy they’re using to justify their decision.  Reading comprehension is key.

So fun fact that I’m sure you know: the 335GT was actually on a F10 5 series platform while the 5XXGT was on a F07 platform. I really loved these cars and would still get one today. Unfortunately the 3GT gets a 3 series interior (not great) and the 5GT typically only is found in 550 guise, and nobody wants a N62…

Your comment is case in point on why civilized discussion is now a lost art. No attempt at understanding the other person, no attempt at understanding why they think the way they do, and no empathy that perhaps the world isn’t black and white. No one will ever have their position be swayed by having a finger pointed

Exactly this. What other people or don’t do with their partners is none of my business. I hate all these viral posts of people overhearing someone in an airport or something and then tracking down their wife to rat them out. Mind your own business, people.

Let me preface with saying: the school board, like most school boards, are fucking stupid. Both economically and morally, free lunches are the right thing to do (and arguably that should be the case forever; the feds should always subsidize food for kids). The free lunches my son has been getting have

Looks like Americans aren’t the only ones nuts about small crossovers.

The most simple, non-political answer is, because Ford’s “Police Interceptor” is actually a model of car. Having a different make’s badge on this would be the same as a Civic or Outback or Mustang badge on the Challenger.  It’s dumb and questionable.

They kinda are? I don’t know about Starbucks-specific carafes, but many industrial drip-brewing machines have very specific set and hold temps which have been deemed “safe”.

That house will be haunting my dreams tonight, thanks 😯

The Ford “Police Interceptor” badge tells you all you need to know. Run, don’t walk, away from this.

Polling most of my upper-middle-class-white-(mostly female) suburban friends: yes, they do. They want TECH! and SCREENS! and their cars to scream I AM AWESOME LOOK AT ME.
