The “old” (pre-12) Ranger had a 7’ box max, but most trucks had a 6’ bed.  The Maverick gets four real seats and a 6’ bed with the tailgate down.  Yeah you’re sacrificing maybe 9” of bed space, but you’re getting a back seat that can fit humans.  My point is, seems like a small compromise…

I didn’t say it was favorable to them. In fact I’m quite horrified that the school district may think of their families this way. However, logically, I think it’s the analogy they’re using to justify their decision.  Reading comprehension is key.

The most simple, non-political answer is, because Ford’s “Police Interceptor” is actually a model of car. Having a different make’s badge on this would be the same as a Civic or Outback or Mustang badge on the Challenger.  It’s dumb and questionable.
