You pronounce it like the town in New Mexico. Ta-oww-ss

I’m holding out hope that after a model year or two they’ll do a “Taos R-Line” and put in the 1.8t. Crossing my fingers.

So. Like. One night we have an article about how amazing the Mk7 GTi is and then the next night we have an article shitting on a new small crossover from VW. Without even, in any capacity, reviewing the car or what it’s like inside or even what benefits it may have.

I’d guess spring ‘22

Buying a car right now is akin to the same logic as buying a house: if you MUST (ie: will be carless like LW2 or homeless), then expect to pay through the nose. If you’re not going to be carless (or being carless doesn’t matter to you), then for the love of all things financial, just wait a bit.

This is by far the coolest car we’ve had on here in a while. NP and would be NP at double the price.

Oh yeah, I guess I wasn’t clear. Most people who aren’t familiar with VW might be horrified at the 40k service interval, especially because it’s very much not optional 😆

Yep. No issues with that, it’s a glorious manual.

That’s it. We all deserve the coming annihilation.

The 2.0 in the GTI has *some* failures, but it’s rare. The 1.8 and 1.4 are basically bulletproof. DSG auto in the GTI and Alltrack needs pretty consistent maintenance; the Aisin 6 speed in the regular Golf and wagon is again, bulletproof.

You’re absolutely right. And other than some issues with some of the 2.0 engines, the Mk7 Golf has been incredibly reliable across the board.

I *would* have watched the Oscars, however they were basically unstreamable if you didn’t have a tv (or “live tv”) subscription. Either had to be a cable subscriber or use a variety of odd, lesser known apps. Had ABC partnered with regular Hulu, or Amazon, or Paramount, or allowed for free streaming on the ABC app

Honestly the van is a better idea. Plus, like, windows.

Do...do we care? I like HBO. I think it’s content has recently been far superior to Netflix. But that’s just my opinion and it doesn’t matter who else shares it 🤷🏻‍♂️

Just for the extra payment, though.  I agree, they really could not have made this more confusing.

It’s not the way it works, but that’s how it SHOULD be. I get that some people can’t take a day off work or lose their cars, there should be a seamless solution paid for by the manufacturer.

Honda did their job. The state failed here. The car’s registration / inspection (if such a state) should never have been allowed to renew with an open safety recall. Registration renewal gets denied, closest local dealership shows up with a flatbed and loaner car, all on Honda’s dime.

Came here to post this!  The Chilito / Chili cheese burrito was a staple of my childhood.

It’s truly a shame something like this doesn’t exist today (good case for an EV or hybrid). A proper small SUV that gets fabulous mileage but could still tackle dirt or sand roads? That’s what I needed for my field job. I had high hopes that the Trax or Ecosport would fill this niche but, alas, they’re terrible.

I’m late to the party here but oof. What kind of recommendations are these? The Mach E is okay, the minivan is 🤢, the Rav Prime is okay but boring, and the Volvo is overpriced.
