I read that as a CEO of an EV company being excited about the government supporting clean energy and EVs. I did not see any indication from that statement that he was “sure” or “confident” that his company would get the USPS contact; in fact Schrader didn’t even bring up the USPS contract, the host did.

A girl that I went to college with had parents that were willing to buy her whatever she wanted after she graduated college. She had a choice between a NB Miata and a S2000 and went with the Miata because the Honda was “too loud”. Still give her shit to this day.

I hear you. I work from home, don’t have any local friends (even the unlocal ones are seriously socially distancing so it’s not like we can hang out) and my dogs just stare at me all day. I miss interaction with other humans that I care about. 

Definitely a hotshot / wildcat driver. Delivers whatever, wherever, as soon as feasible. Doesn’t do much braking. 

I’m a little surprised the odo doesn’t go past 999,999. Getting 1m+ miles in a diesel truck is rare but not unheard of, especially for a hotshot driver. The only real surprising thing here is the number of turbos; I’d think that long highway miles would mean the turbo isn’t spooled and therefore not taking on that…

In late Jan I invested some in clean energy, electric car, and health tech (like Genome) stocks. Oops.

I’ve been in that garage! Most Philly garages are too tight and poorly lit. Haven’t died yet though.

As a late teen/early 20s person about a decade ago, I was convinced I wanted a gently used LS because they seemed like such a great deal on the used market. Then I read repair horror stories. 

I agree that the wheels are stupid and too big, but I like the wrap and the white walls (I’ve had them on “modern” cars like a Grand Marquis lol). Don’t like it enough to buy this thing, but I don’t find them offensive.

They still fail all the time though, right?  I’m pretty sure every older LX I’ve been in has had the suspension swapped to coils. 

Yeah you’re gonna be fine. I’d be more concerned about you hitting something than anything wrong with the LC. Toyota brakes take more push to engage than you’re probably used to.

I have reached into the far depths of my business brain and I can’t figure out why Avis is “okay” while Hertz is “dead”, short of the fact that Avis really only had airport-based rental sites which is a bulk of (though not all of) the car rental business.

Any major issues with the V90 during your time of ownership?  My BMW sedan is getting up there and I’ve been eyeing CPO 90s...

I liked the Bangle cars then, and I still like them now. Better than where we’ve gone, anyway. 

^ this. I do monthly 400 mile one-way trips and spend less than 15 minutes stopped for a bathroom break (my car can do about 500-600 miles on a tank of gas @ 80mph). That scales should i want to do a 9 or 12 hour journey. I’m not about the slow road trip life.
